Hello America, Rob here.
Sorry for the prolonged radio silence. I didn’t quite realize it until I got home, but our two-week run this month was actually pretty draining. As you can probably tell from my last entry, by the end of the tour I was running on fumes, adrenaline, and unnecessarily stylized writing. But now The Revivalists are back home, and I’ve recovered a bit of coherence.
Deluna Fest was possibly the best day ever. First, Dave almost died:
Then, Big Sam got all up on our stage at the end of “Hurricane Winslow”:
Then, I got a bunch of free shit from shot girls:
Then, somehow, I was drunk:
Then, Zack and our friend Flip invented something wonderful:
Then, awesome music happened:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the wonderful people at Deluna Fest and congratulate them on a remarkably organized and successful first year. Every festival employee we encountered was incredibly kind and helpful, despite the fact that they had been awake and scrambling for roughly fifty hours straight by the time we got a hold of them. I think I speak for all of The Revivalists when I say that we can’t wait for next year’s Deluna.
So that wrapped up our October tour. The following weekend we had a performance on Tulane’s campus and then a show in Jackson. Mostly, we’re still catching our breath, gearing up for November, and looking towards the next year.
I was going to write more words, but putting photos into these things is a gigantic source of ass pain so I am done. We’re going to be opening for Big Sam’s Funky Nation this Friday at the Blue Nile, then we’re going to spend the rest of Halloweentime pretending we’re normal people who spend time with our friends on the weekends. It’s going to be fun, probably!
Okay, everyone! Have a delightful Halloween.
