Hello, friends! Rob here.
Sorry, but The Revivalists actually didn’t really do anything as a band this week so there isn’t much to tell you. My good friends Ashley and Andrew decided to get married on Saturday, and several months ago they asked me to play saxophone during the ceremony, so my weekend was pretty much entirely filled with wedding stuff. As for what everyone else is getting into this weekend, Dave hopped a flight northward to visit a friend and get some new ink done, Andrew went on a romantic camping trip, George probably worked, Ed probably didn’t work, and Zack probably twirled The Moustache in front of a mirror.
Call it a weekend off. Our first in months.
Not that we haven’t been busy. We’ve been working up some material from the new album and getting Mississippi Rail Company’s awesome drummer Sam Shahin up to speed on our songs so he can sub for Andrew in August. So, you see? We’ve been doing stuff! Just less stuff than normal.
But we’ll be back to a normal amount of stuff on Friday, when we depart for Shreveport for a weekend double-header chock full of Freedom and America! In case you’re new to this whole “pattern recognition” thing, we’ll be playing at Fatty Arbuckle’s, and then probably trying, with success varying by individual, to resist the grimy, neon allure of the casinos across the street.
More on that next week.
